Fanshawe College is a comprehensive college serving the greater London region by providing flexible learning arrangements and experiential education opportunities developed in response to labour market needs. College Diploma - Developmental Services Worker

The Developmental Services Worker two-year diploma program prepares its graduates to be specialists in supporting children and adults with developmental disabilities. Inherent to the role of a DSW is an ability to collaborate and build relationships with people with developmental disabilities and their families and to work with colleagues and members of inter-professional teams to facilitate a seamless network of support for people. 
 
Courses focus on disabilities, person directed supports, inclusion and community resources, dual diagnosis, interpersonal skills, counselling, health, pharmacology, development, teaching and intervention strategies.
 
Field placements in community agencies and/or schools are part of the curriculum. Students on field placement are required to work evening shifts. Personal cost will incur in preparation for field work. 

College Diploma - Early Childhood Education

The Early Childhood Education program combines theory and coursework with real experience in the field. Students will learn the importance of play in children’s learning, family involvement, and curriculum design. Graduates will be qualified to work in a variety of jobs including child care centres, early learning and family centres.
 
This two-year Ontario College Diploma program will develop students’ knowledge and professional skills in the early childhood educator’s role and responsibilities. Their work placement will expose them to a wide variety of age groups and multiple organizations. Students will have dynamic and eclectic experiences that will make them more valuable to the field of Early Childhood Education
