Fanshawe College is a comprehensive college serving the greater London region by providing flexible learning arrangements and experiential education opportunities developed in response to labour market needs. One of Ontario’s largest colleges – with four campuses in London, Simcoe, St. Thomas and Woodstock – Fanshawe serves close to half a million people with a promise to educate, engage, empower and excite. They offer more than 200 degree, diploma, certificate and apprenticeship programs to 43,000 students each year, helping people unlock their potential and achieve success in a variety of disciplines including applied arts, business, health care, human services, hospitality and technology.

- Campus life: Fanshawe has gained a reputation for having one the best student experiences. Much of that is thanks to the Fanshawe Student Union which hosts 200+ clubs and events and is committed to supporting student success across all campuses. - Location: Fanshawe’s Woodstock/Oxford Regional Campus is situated on 50 acres of beautifully landscaped property that is conveniently located at the forks of Highways 401 and 403. The campus is part of the Woodstock District Community Complex, which also houses Goff Community Hall, a gymnastics centre, two arenas, a figure skating club and food services. Woodstock is a city of 38,000 that blends urban and rural life, business, manufacturing and agriculture and features beautiful parks, recreational facilities, golf courses, art galleries, museums and shopping.
College Diploma - Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician
Fanshawe College Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (HRAC) Technician program helps students to develop employable skills in this in-demand career field. Students will learn how to view a building as a system and how to design, test, install and service mechanical, heating and cooling equipment. They will also explore hands-on lab work and theory.
In this program, students will develop skills in:
- • welding
- • sheet metal
- • electrical
- • plumbing
- • heating, refrigeration and air conditioning.
A career in HRAC offers a wide range of job options and opportunities for professional advancement in service and sales, estimating, supporting large buildings, design, installation and more.
The graduate has reliably demonstrated the ability to:
- • Relate effectively to heating, refrigeration, and air conditioning supervisors, coworkers, and customers;
- • Work safely and in accordance with all applicable acts, regulations, legislation, and codes to ensure personal and public safety;
- • Select and use a variety of heating, refrigeration, and air conditioning tools and equipment safely and properly;
- • Solve math and applied science problems required to effectively install and maintain heating, refrigeration, and air conditioning systems, and associated components;
- • Prepare and interpret electrical, mechanical, and piping drawings;
- • Install, service, and troubleshoot heating, refrigeration, air conditioning systems, and associated components;
- • Develop strategies for ongoing personal and professional development, that will lead to enhanced work performance and career opportunities, and keep pace with industry changes.
College Diploma - Police Foundations - Accelerated
The Police Foundations (Accelerated) program is designed to give potential police candidates a broad education in the theory of human relations, combined with related academic knowledge of the law, police powers, community policing and investigation. Delivered in the same context as other post-secondary education programs, the goal of the Police Foundations (Accelerated) program is to provide students with a well-rounded education that prepares them to address the problems of the communities that they may serve, in a flexible and effective manner. The physical training and career preparation components of the program are designed to assist students to meet the demands of police recruitment processes. This program is not a requirement with police services.
The graduate has reliably demonstrated the ability to:
- • complete all tasks in compliance with pertinent legislation, as well as policing standards, regulations and guidelines.
- • analyze all relevant information and make effective and legally defensible decisions in accordance with ethical and professional standards
- • be accountable for one’s actions when carrying out all tasks.

This program requires valid language test results
Applicants interested in applying for direct admission, but are yet to complete an acceptable language test, can do so, but must provide valid results before receiving a final offer letter. (Varies based on student nationality)

For conditional admission, instead of submitting language proficiency test scores, applicants may complete English courses prior to the academic program. The length of the English course is determined based on the applicant‘s level of English proficiency.
