The College was established in 1967 and is a highly acclaimed public community college serving over 8,500 full time and 20,000 part-time learners on three campuses. The College offers hundreds of career paths in health sciences, community studies, business and information technology, engineering technologies, and media, art & design. College Diploma - Practical Nursing
- The program is fully accredited by the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
- Small, personal class sizes.
- Hands on training in a state of the art nursing lab with simulation technology.
- Peer mentorship and tutor support.
- Comprehensive, clinical placement experiences with a preceptor in hospital and/or community settings (10 weeks in total).
- After successful completion of the Practical Nursing diploma program, graduates are eligible to write the Canadian Registered Practical Nurse Examination (CRPNE) which is administered by the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
College Diploma - Office Administration - Health Services - Fast Track
- Training includes client care, appointment scheduling, manual and electronic charting, transcription of a wide range of medical data and reports and communication techniques.
- Strict emphasis is placed on confidentiality following PHIPA (Personal Health Information Protection Act) guidelines.
- Graduates have an understanding of healthcare billing through MOHLTC (Ministry of Health and Long Term Care-OHIP), along with third-party and private billing with a hands-on approach in an electronic healthcare software setting.
- Work Placement in the final semester in a variety of private and government-funded medical clinics, general and specialized healthcare offices, hospitals or alternative healthcare facilities.
- Advanced computer software including EMR (electronic medical records) training.
This program requires valid language test results
Applicants interested in applying for direct admission, but are yet to complete an acceptable language test, can do so, but must provide valid results before receiving a final offer letter.
This program offers conditional admissions
For conditional admission, instead of submitting language proficiency test scores, applicants may complete English courses prior to the academic program. The length of the English course is determined based on the applicant‘s level of English proficiency.
